Tibialis Trainer Scoring Matrix

20 products, 40 criteria, 800 individual marks. Nothing is summarised away. A cross means the maker does not publish the fact, not that the product is bad.

What this set is weighted for

A reader training at home who already owns weight plates, wants to load the front of the shin properly, and does not have a corner of the room to give to a single-muscle machine. That reader is stated on the article and it is what the group sizes encode. What It Actually Trains carries eight criteria because a device that attaches to the foot loads six things a bar cannot reach. Footprint & Portability carries five, which is what pushes three real machines below three ankle weights. Disclosure carries five and is scored against what the maker publishes on its own store, not against what a product is capable of.

Score the other 35 criteria without the portability group, the way a reader with a permanent garage corner would, and the top of the board changes shape: Kensui EZ-BOOT MAX V2 27, MonkeyFeet 26, TBG Solo Tib Bar V2 25, Lifepro ShinBlitz 25, Bells of Steel Tibialis Trainer Bar 25. Every number needed to redo that is in the table above.

Judgment calls worth disclosing

Unpublished is a cross. A product that clearly holds 100 lb but does not say so scores a cross on capacity. That costs the two most expensive machines on the board most of their Disclosure group, and it costs the winner the dimensions and material criteria.

Kensui's two boots are one entry. The EZ-BOOT MAX V2 ($99) is scored and the EZ-BOOT PRO ($29) is not, the same way the sibling boards fold a maker's variants into the frame the article argues. The PRO would lose the 200 lb capacity criteria and gain the under-$60 price criterion.

Ankle weights and cable straps are on the board on purpose. They are what most people actually buy when they go looking for a way to train the lower leg, and leaving them off would have hidden the most useful finding here, which is that they score well on everything except the thing you came for. An ankle weight sits on the ankle, which is the pivot, so it earns a cross on all three dorsiflexion criteria.

"Dorsiflexion load can pass 50 lb" is scored from the maker's own published capacity. A product with no published figure gets a cross even where the hardware would obviously take it.

Lifepro's ShinBlitz is scored across two first-party sources. Price and stock come from lifeprofitness.com's own product data. Capacity, warranty, plate compatibility and reviews come from Lifepro's own Amazon listing, because lifeprofitness.com serves an automated-traffic challenge that the product page could not be read through. Both are the brand's own claims and neither is a third-party estimate.

The Tib Bar Guy's Tib Machine loses "in stock and shipping now" because its own product page says it ships in late September while listing it as available.

What we cut, and why

Rogue TF-1. The biggest name in the category and the most annoying omission on this page. roguefitness.com serves an automated-traffic challenge and will not return the product page, and published third-party figures for its price disagree at $145, $175 and roughly $200. There is no price here we are willing to print, so it is off the board rather than guessed at.

Freak Athlete Tri-Flexor and Iron Tib Bar. Both are on 2026 best-of lists. Neither is in Freak Athlete's catalogue any more.

HGG Performance Tib Bar and ISOTIB. Also on 2026 lists. hggperformance.com returns an HTTP 402, which is what a Shopify store serves once it has stopped trading.

Tib Bar Bros Solo Tib Bar. Sold out in both diameters. The two-footed Tib Bar Bros trainer is on the board because its 50 mm variant is in stock.

Amazon-only listings, including several with four-figure review counts, because a US list price could not be verified from a first-party page. Yes4All sells a tib bar on Amazon and does not sell it on yes4all.com.

Sources and dates

Every price, capacity, dimension, warranty, review count and stock status above was read off the maker's own store on 2 September 2026, with the single ShinBlitz exception noted above. Ratings are printed as the seller's own review widget prints them and are never rounded up. Kensui's rating of 4.44 across 320 reviews is the Judge.me badge on Kensui's own EZ-BOOT product page. The Tib Bar Bros price is the euro list price on its own store, which does not publish a US dollar figure. Product names and trademarks belong to their respective owners.
